Samsung Mobile Apps for Africa

• Samsung has come on board as a category sponsor for an additional mobile applications track to CTEC 2012.

  The Samsung Mobile Apps for Africa track carries a cash prize of R25 000.00 for the winning or most promising mobile application under the following sector headings:

  • Health
  • Education
  • Real Life – Agriculture
  • Real Life – Tourism
  • Open Mobile Category

  Apart from the cash prize, Samsung is also sponsoring a Galaxy Tab 10 inch; a Galaxy Tab 7 inch and a Galaxy GS2 Smart Phone to the winner and runners-up in the track.

  All entries will be considered for further development and possible inclusion on the Samsung Mobile App Store. Developers will gain access to testing facilities at the recently launched UCT Samsung Mobile Innovation Lab based at the University of Cape Town.

  Guests at the LaunchCapeTown TECHBash event on Friday, 23 March stand a chance of winning a Galaxy GS2 with compliments of Samsung.

  How to apply:

  Step 1: Complete the Samsung Mobile Apps for Africa online registration form below.
  Step 2: Complete the relevant entry form for CTEC 2012 depending on the stage of your business development – Idea Stage or Growth Stage. The CTEC sector category selected should be “IT, Telecoms & Media (See question 6 of the main application)

  Note: If you have already submitted this idea as part of CTEC 2012 for either of the Stages, only complete Step 1 and skip Step 2 then your application is complete.
